FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- Ctrl-Alt-Del Commander v. 2.0 only $34 for TEAM OS/2 Members

SUBJECT: Mount Vernon, WA, October 19, 1996--Perez Computing is pleased to announce special pricing on Ctrl-Alt-Del Commander v. 2.0 for TEAM OS/2 members.

TEAM OS/2 members can now download Ctrl-Alt-Del Commander (CAD Commander) v. 2.0 version from our website at http://www.pcs-soft.com for only $34 (normally $39 plus shipping and handling) using our Secure Electronic Ordering System!! Better yet, every 500th person to order CAD Commander from the website will receive it for free! This also includes a free upgrade to version 2.5 which will be available January 5, 1998.

Ctrl-Alt-Del Commander v. 2.0 is a must have utility for users of OS/2 Warp. If you've ever had your system hang while doing mission critical tasks, you need CAD Commander v. 2.0. "OS/2 is generally a robust and stable operating system. Ctrl-Alt-Del Commander v. 2.0 allows you to regain control of OS/2 in the rare instances when a poorly written application causes things to go terribly wrong," said Bill Perez, President, Perez Computing Services.

By taking control of the boot services of an OS/2 Warp system, CAD Commander v. 2.0 prevents accidental rebooting of OS/2 from within any type of OS/2, DOS, or Windows session. It gives complete command over all application's status (including their priorities), and allows selective shutdown of errant applications which cannot normally be shutdown via OS/2's Ctrl-ESC key sequence. It also provides a handy status line and enhanced task list to let you control applications from your PM Desktop. Finally, it includes a Game Boost option for DOS and Win full screen games to enhance their performance under OS/2.

Pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del using Ctrl-Alt-Del Commander v. 2.0 DOES NOT REBOOT your computer. Instead, it brings up a screen that shows you a list of your running applications, presenting you with a set of options that includes shutting down, switching to, changing the priority of individual applications, or restarting the desktop. Restarting the desktop can be done without shutting down any running application. The desktop can be restarted without losing Internet or other network connections. Programs that hang the Single Input Que can be stopped allowing the user to continue using OS/2 Warp without having to reboot, saving precious data and valuable time.

Some of the many features of Ctrl-Alt-Del Commander Version 2.0 are:

Fully compatible with all versions of OS/2 Warp, including Warp 3.0 and all fixpack levels, Warp Server (standard and advanced, but not SMP), Warp 4.0 (all fixpack levels), and Warp-J (with downloadable drivers from PCS website).

An enhanced Kill feature for users of Warp 3.0 and Fixpack #17 (including Warp 4) or later allowing the user to kill almost any program.

An easy activation mode for novice users who just want kill an application without using the more advanced options or to restart a frozen desktop.

Full-screen and PM interfaces with full mouse and keyboard driven controls making it easy to use.

A PM interface in addition to the full-screen text mode interface that provides an enhanced "Window List" that lets you kill hung applications, modify priorities, and more.

A fully configurable Status Line that gives useful information about your system, including the state of Ctrl-Alt-Del Commander, the date and time, a graphical CPU monitor that is "friendly" towards all other running programs, swapper file information, and free space on your drives. The Status Line also includes an alarm clock, timer, and more!

A system statistics record that displays information about the system such as when it was started, how many threads and processes are active, memory usage information, and the total number of running applications.

Detailed information is available for each running application including DLL's used, priorities (including individual thread information), and more!

A "DOS Game Boost" option, which allows users to change the priority of DOS and Windows games. Giving games the speed and system resources formerly found on DOS only machines.

Access System Setup and normal shutdown of OS/2 from the Status Line Menu.

Internet utilities to allow remove process control including killing applications, changing program priorities, viewing running processes, and rebooting the remove PC.

Virtual desktops are now part of the standard CAD Commander program. Use up to 4 virtual desktops and switch between them using either your mouse or keyboard instantly. Version 2.5, coming soon, supports 10 virtual desktops with lots of new features and improved functionality.

Assign hotkeys to Workplace Shell objects so any program is only a keystroke away.

Enhanced (as in "smart") shutdown of OS/2. Warns you when programs are still running when you shutdown OS/2, including showing you a list of running applications and letting you switch to them. It also includes an auto-reboot feature so you can reboot your system as soon as shutdown finishes without pressing another key.

Includes complete online context sensitive help and documentation so you're never left wondering what to do next.

Free upgrade to version 2.5 (from 2.0x) which includes the following new features:

Smart and very easy to use system configuration and CONFIG.SYS Editor.

Modem monitor (now you can see whats happening with your internal modem).

Support for 10 virtual desktops, with improved functionality on all desktops.

Enhanced support for hotkeyed applications including starting applications on specific virtual desktops, opening new instances or accessing previous instance, and more!

Run tasks at shutdown, including automatic Warp Server Requester shutdown to speed system shutdowns.

Improved alarm clock feature now lets you specify multiple dates and times, as well as a messages to be displayed at those times.

Complete documentation and a hint-book for overcoming common freeze-ups in PDF   format so you can print hard-copy of the manual and have it ready when your system hangs!

Plus even more new features and enhancements!

All this and more in a utility that uses only about 1 megabyte of disk space, less than 300K of RAM, and virtually no CPU time until it is activated by pressing "Ctrl-Alt-Del".

"For only $39 (SRP), we think CAD Commander v. 2.0 is a must have utility for every OS/2 user," said Mario Perez, Marketing Manager for Perez Computing Service.

If you would like to try it before you buy, a FULLY FUNCTIONAL DEMO of the 1.5 version for new users, along with upgrade patches for previous users can be found at the Perez Computing Services Web site at http://www.pcs-soft.com.

In times where other companies are sliding away from developing OS/2 products, Perez Computing Services continues to stand by OS/2 and will continue to develop new products and enhance our existing products.
